Schedule Facebook Page and Group Posts
Updated · Multi Post Social guide
You can schedule Facebook posts for Pages directly from Multi Post Social: text, links with previews, photo albums, videos and Reels all publish at the time you choose. Groups work by reminder, because Facebook no longer lets tools post into them. This guide explains the Page roles you need, how to connect, the limits that matter, why Meta tokens sometimes need a reconnect, and the habits that keep a Page growing.
What you can schedule on Facebook
Page posts of every common kind auto-publish: plain text, a link with its preview card, one photo, a photo album, a video up to 240 minutes and Reels. You can pin a post after it is live, add alt text to each photo, and choose whether a link post shows the preview or just the URL. Events and Marketplace listings are not supported by any tool and stay in the Facebook app.

Account requirements
You need a personal Facebook account with a Page role of admin, editor or a task-based role that includes creating content. Pages managed in Meta Business Suite work the same way. Groups require you to be an admin, and even then the post goes out as a reminder. Connecting is done with the personal account; Multi Post Social only receives permissions for the Pages you pick, never for your personal profile.
How to connect Facebook
- Open Channels, press Connect channel and choose Facebook.
- Sign in to Facebook in the window that opens, then pick the Pages you want to add. Each Page becomes its own channel.
- Accept the permissions for publishing, reading comments and reading insights. Business-Suite-managed Pages may ask for a Business selection first.
- Set the Page’s time zone and posting schedule. Repeat for a second Page if needed.

Groups and reminders
Facebook removed tool access to Groups, so a Group post is scheduled as a reminder: at the chosen time the mobile app notifies you, copies the text, saves the media and opens the Group. Stories for Pages are also reminders. Everything else on a Page publishes directly.
Best practices when you schedule Facebook posts
- Keep most posts under 250 characters; longer text works for stories and announcements, not daily posts.
- Let the link preview do the work: one link, one clear image, a short line above it.
- Native video and Reels usually reach more people than a link to a video elsewhere.
- Ask one question per post; replies in the inbox count as engagement.
- Use one to three hashtags at most; Facebook search rarely rewards more.
- Check the best-time heat map in analytics; Page audiences often peak around lunch and early evening.
Connection errors and fixes
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Token expired | Password change, new two-factor setup or 60-day expiry | Press Reconnect and sign in again |
| Page not listed | Your role lacks content permissions | Ask a Page admin to grant Editor or a content task |
| Page in Business Suite not found | Page sits under a Business you did not select | Reconnect and pick the Business when asked |
| Link preview missing | The site blocks Meta’s crawler or has no image tags | Add Open Graph tags on the page or upload an image |
| Video rejected | Codec or length outside the limits | Export MP4 H.264 under 1 GB and 240 minutes |
Mobile tips
Group reminders only work with notifications on, so enable them in the Multi Post Social app after installing. When a Page shows Needs reconnect on your phone, reconnect from there; the Facebook login opens in your browser and returns to the app when done.
Facebook rules to keep in mind
Meta restricts tools that post identical content to many Pages in a short time and asks for the Paid partnership label on sponsored posts. Review the apps connected to your Facebook account a few times a year and keep two-factor authentication on. Meta’s Business Help Center has the current policies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule posts to a Facebook Group?
Only as a reminder. Facebook no longer allows tools to publish into Groups, so the app notifies you at the scheduled time with the content ready.
Why does Facebook keep disconnecting?
Meta expires permission tokens when you change your password, adjust security settings or after about 60 days. Reconnecting takes under a minute and queued posts resume.
Can I connect several Pages?
Yes. Each Page is a separate channel with its own schedule, queue, inbox and analytics.
Can I schedule Facebook Reels?
Yes. Vertical videos between 3 and 90 seconds publish directly as Reels with a cover frame.
